You know i have stayed away from this subject for a while. I have not blogged about World Cup since it begun..I did not want to join my husband daily on his crazy outbursts about how all those African teams had chances and they kept on blowing it up…How that  Sani Kaita from Nigeria kicked that player from Greece and gets a red card leaving his team mates to play their guts out pretty much the entire game! That being said,  i had to watch today’s game. Naturally, I am a US fan, but  obviously a Ghana fan too.

Today, I wanted the Ghanaians to win. The world cup is held in S. Africa. We all know where all the other Africa teams ended up in…the sidelines.  Ghana’s win was not only for those young men in that national team. It was a win for every other country in Africa. It was a win for all of us of African descent spread all over this world.  I have to give it to them, for a moment there i didn’t think they could beat the US Team.

This game kept me on my toes, especially the last 30 min.  It was sad watching the US lose, seeing some of the players shed tears…Watching the star player Donovan walk away from the field, exchanging jerseys with one of the Ghanian players and not even look at his face, but it is all part of the game. You win some, you lose some. Honestly, just for today , i wanted Ghana to win.

Congratulations to Ghana, and thank you for putting Africa back on the play list, and for heavensake play the game like you played today in that  Keep the drama off the field, Play like you have never played before. You beat a good team today, so, you have to take that and go win it again!

I mean  the US Team really owned that second quarter…I was really nervous there for a moment, they  played well. Great game!

Go Ghana! Good luck! For Heavens sake, play for Africa this time, so whatever you do, know you are representing all of us. We are rooting for you.

And the Saints won the super bowl! I am relieved actually. I could not take to see them lose, the entire city of New Orleans was praying fo this, and given what had happened during Katrina, i can go to sleep happy tonight, because no one deserved this win better than those Saints.

So here’s to you . Who dat? who dat?  Goo Saints! Congratulations on your win. Peyton Manning has been a winner before, so this was a long time coming for the saints… I am a very big fan of Peyton but tonight i wanted Drew Brees to take home the win and they did.

So you all know am  a huge fan of TP. This movie finally came out on DVD so i was able to watch it. TP, i must admit this was not what i had expected. The dvd had so much advertisements, much more than his past DVDs. You are talking about a mother here of a 7 month old baby that doesn’t sleep that much at night. So by the time i got past all the ads, the baby wakes up. I could not find that dang remote to fast forward pass them.

The movie had a lot of big name stars. Taraji Henson did a good job , i loved the scene with her niece trying to beg her to let her live with her. That got me in tears.  I missed the comedic touch that is usually in a lot of his past movies. I would have loved a mix of his old cast- Mr Brown would have been a great addition.  Madea character did ok, but of course  we can never have enough comedy.

Overall, it was an ok movie. It just felt as if, someone else wrote the script and just gave TP a part to play. If you have seen all his  past movies you will understand what i mean.

Brittany Murphy and Simon Monjack

Oh Snap! I loved this girl! I loved her characters. Apparently her mom found he collapsed in her bathroom on Sunday, the Doctors said she died from cardiac arrest. They have to perform an autopsy to truly find out the cause of death.

Her husband Simon Monjack, a photographer, denies any allegations of drug use, or stories about Brittany being anorexic, in stead he stated that Brittany was trying to gain more weight, but has a high metabolism, and that they had plans to have a baby next year. Aaaw,  how sad she didn’t get to do this.

Man,  she was only 32 yrs old this is truly sad and devastating. You know when someone is sick for a long time or is at a very old age, you at least get mentally prepared for that day when you will have tgo say goodbye, but all this sudden deaths….aargh. Oh well, it is all part of this journey and God’s plan for us on earth.

My sympathies, to the entire  family and friends of Brittany, may her Soul rest in Peace!

For the rest of us, let her death be a reminder that our life on earth is just loaned to us, so let’s try to live a good, happy life. Let’s be thankful for everyday, spend time with those we love every chance we have, and of course fall in love with someone or just life!

Oh, i am mad for him!

Can you imagine spending 35 years in prison, i mean that is  a lifetime, in prison for a crime you did not commit!  I mean, he must have so much faith and patience. All he could say was “I got God in my head” Wow!

I just read this story on Cnn.com  James Bain, 54  who sentenced to life in prison after being convicted  on charges of kidnapping, burglary and strong-arm rape  when he was 19 years old.  Bain was set free after DNA test showed he did not kidnap and rape  the  9-year-old boy accused of,  in 1974.

It is stories like this that make you stop and think, How many other innocent people are still out there serving life sentences for crimes that they did not commit. This man went to jail at 19, and now he is coming out at 54 years old.  Very sad indeed. This is someone’s son, cousin, uncle who missed a lot of family moments serving time for something he didn’t do.

As reported on CNN, In 1974, the 9-year-old Lake Wales, Florida, victim had told police that his attacker had bushy sideburns and a mustache. After being shown five photos of potential suspects, the victim picked out one of Bain, the police report said.

So, some outstanding issues here, for one  the real criminal here went free and innocent man served time. This boy who is now what 44 is going to have to re-live all that ordeal and am thinking maybe full of  Guilt for causing someone else to  be wrongfully punished, and the fact that he may never get real justice for the crime commited against him.

One thing is for sure, James Bain’s mother is in cloud 9 right now. I mean, this  is the perfect christmas present for this entire family!

Tiger you know there was no way people would have left you alone.  You are an icon and in the world of golf you are the superstar, and so when drama happens in your life, everyone will not only hear about it, but mostly would have something to say about it.

So Tiger cheated on his wife,  so should we really care?  I mean… Whatever happens in his marriage should be  his business, and is between him and his wife, right?  Oh yeah…i forgot, it would if he was only  Tom, Dick , or Harry.

I am not saying cheating is ok, but for heavensake,  leave the man alone  and let him work on fixing his marriage, whatever that is left of it!

Sunday’s game between the Chiefs and the Steelers was the GAME to watch! Wow i still can’t belive the Chiefs beat the SB champions! I bet the Steelers are still thinking that was a prank. So The Chiefs CAN actually play? I mean, i  want to rewind this whole season and want them to start all over again, of course starting last Sunday, lol.

Yeah.. I know am not the only fan saying this now…Who is Larry Johnson?  when you have Jamal Charles bringing it! Bowe was suspended, but his replacement – Chambers didn’t dissappoint.

Hey I love football, i am just telling it as it is. So to the coach, keep on doing what you are doing, i don’t care whether you didn’t play football or not, this Sunday was the best time spent watching the team play. I hope this is the beginning, no more hopeless plays.

Good Job, KC Chiefs! Go Chiefs!

….Did anyone watch soccer championship last night? I just caught the last 10 min as i was watching the AMA awards… Oh man, i felt so sorry for Beckham. He played through all the pain, and only for his team members to lose on the penalty kicks! Oh well, David you played well, there’s always another season!

If only.

Oprah has decided to end her show on September 9, 2011 after  25  successful years in the running.  Wait… She is not retiring, she is just expanding her network. Apparently rumor has it she will be bringing her program to her own network- The Oprah Winfrey Network.

For Oprah, this just means- she is just getting started! Well Oprah, i know you don’t believe in luck, but i will still wish you lots of it. I am sure anything you touch turns out to be  gold and this new venture is just going to be a success!

I think we should start a campaign  with the slogan – who wants to work for Oprah? I  am in.

This is the picture released for Major Nidal Hasan, the U.S. Army Psychiatrist that shot and killed 12 men and wounded 31 others today at the army base Fort Hood, Texas.  According to yahoo news, this man was against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had wanted the President to pull the soldiers from this 2 countries, and today he just lost it.

He is still alive.

What is really troubling here is, all this men couldn’t defend themselves, i mean they have no reason to carry guns around on base. They only use their guns during training. This is very sad. Families get worried when their loved ones get deployed overseas, when  they are still in the country at least you have peace. How do you call someone’s wife, mother, husband and tell them their fellow army man, who is supposed to protect them, who took an oath to fight for the country, just shot and killed them!

This is is hard to take in.  Peace to all.
