Eli

Eli had his first hair cut this weekend. You know how babies lose their hair all different places in their head as they rub against their beds, or their seats. It was time for him to get a cut.

I am still exclusively breastfeeding him and i plan to continue for at least 2 years. I  look at him now, all innocent, and i hope he remains that way. He is sleeping  right now and so is his brother Julian.

Now all mama hopes for is another  good night sleep.

Good night or good morning to you.

    Hi
    How are you doing?
Sorry I feel like I always talk to you when I have a question, I really wish I can do something for you one day, I want to send you a Christmas card or something just to say thank you for all your help…
Like always I have some questions, I don’t know if you have notice that Iron kids bread from sara lee now has milk on it, what other kind of bread do you get? I found this bread, premium Italian oroweat, but I am not sure if is safe or not (like always) the ingredients are: unbleached enriched wheat flour ( flour, malted barley flour, reduced iron, niacin, thiamin mononitrate (vitamin b1) riboflavin ( vitamin b2), folic acid, water, yeast, sugar, salt, soybean oil, mono-and diglycerides, wheat gluten, calcium propionate (preservative, calcium sulfate, datem, soy lecithin.
I don’t know how do you do it I probably should to read more about it because I always have trouble reading labels!
Also, is bacon safe? Any kind? I got Oscar Mayer bacon I haven’t try it yet neither the lunch meats because it says has lactate something and I wasn;t sure because once again I didn’t understand, I looked on google and it says sometimes it can be from the protein of the milk :S so I don’t really know I wish one day we can go grocery shopping together haha
    Thank you again

    Leyla

    Hi Leyla..
No worries, i am glad i can help. The bread you bought seems fine. The bacon though may contain lactoce which could be milk base. I buy the Always Save bacon from our local grocery store and that has no lactose or milk.. so next time you are in the grocery store look for different brands and sometime even the cheapest brands may be milk free. I didn’t realize the sara lee iron kids bread now contain milk.. I bought a loaf 2 weeks ago and contained no milk, they may have just started adding milk then.
I buy Milton’s Multi-Grain bread for me, it is whole grain and very filling. It has no milk or eggs, however it has soy and sesame seeds. It is whole grain, so not as soft as the sara lee iron kids for kids, you know… i like to toast it before i eat it. Again, this may be an option for you. I will check out other options for you next time i go grocery shopping :)
I know shopping can be hard especially when you have to read through labels a lot…Hang in there you are doing great!

Thank you so much again. He is being eating so good since I met you and he loves to eat know, before it was a nightmare and know he is always saying food! Food! :D
The bacon that I got is this one…
Americas favorite bacon from Oscar mayer
INGREDIENTS: Cured water, salt, sugar, sodium phosphates, sodium acrobate, sodium nitrate.
    Do you think is okay?
    And also I got this…
Chicken breast Cajun seasoned from Oscar mayer
Ingredients: Chicken Breast, Water, Cajun Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Salt, Yeast Extract, Dried Garlic, Sugar, Flavor, Dried Onions, Potato Starch, Oleoresin Red Pepper, Oleoresin Black Pepper, White Pepper, Paprika), Contains Less than 2% of Salt, Sugar, Sodium Phosphates, Carrageenan, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Diacetate, Sodium Ascorbate, Natural Flavorings, Sodium Nitrite, Modified Corn Starch, Sodium Lactate. Coated with Seasonings (Water, Spice, Sugar, Konjac Flour, Salt, Hydrolyzed Gelatin (for Flavor), Dried Garlic, Carrageenan).
    What is sodium lactate?

  6. Sophia says:

    Leyla You are welcome!

The bacon is fine has no milk.
The chicken breast is ok too.

Sodium Lactate is a natural salt, associated with lactic acid but has no lactose ( sugar from cow’s milk). The Lactose would be the issue, but Sodium Lactate does not contain any milk protein.

    Hi
I am planning in make some pie for thanks giving
Is any kind of flour safe? Is shortening safe?
David had ham sandwich today he loved it!
    :D
    Thank you one more time
    Leyla

  13. Sophia says:

Hey Leyla, since David can have wheat… any all purpose wheat flour should be ok. Crisco shortening is milk free so you can safely use it. I am glad he is getting to munch on different things. It sounds like you are really lucky he isn’t such a picky eater!

  14. Leyla Moss says:

he was before buy since you are being helping me he loves to eat.
    so just wheat flour?
is regular flour not safe (not wheat)
    ?

  15. Sophia says:
