Every website that i read, every news i watch, there is Jon and Kate’s divorce saga, and i ask myself what about the kids?
I don’t care how bad your spouse is, when you have kids together, you can’t go and announce to the whole world how much you hate and despise your spouse. Your kids love you both, regardless of the drama in your life, they probably need to hear more from both parents as assurance that regarless of how bad things will get that they can always come back and talk to either mom or dad about it.
So Jon apparently cleaned out their bank account…This is more reason why married people should still have separate accounts. Should people decide to have a joint account, be sure it is a percentage of your money going in there not all of it. Like financial experts or your own parents would say, It is money be smart about it!
Some people get so angry at each other that they forget about the impact their actions would have on their children. Since they have 12 bank accounts between them, i hope the 8 accounts are for their children. Everyone in that family was making money not just Jon and Kate, and so hopefully Jon didn’t clean out the money that would have been for those 8 children as well.
Jon and Kate, I am sure you won’t care what i have to say, but of course , i will still say it … since both of you have made up your mind to divorce, mind your kids and play civil. Words spoken can never be taken back, so tread smoothly, those children didn’t ask for this. Be the parents first, then exes behind closed doors, goodluck!

I have never understood that particular bank account argument. I hear so many people say that you should have separate accounts in case you get divorced. If you are planning on getting divorced, don’t get married!
If you are going to have separate accounts, then you should probably buy separate groceries, and each buy half of the diapers and baby food, and each pay for and insure your own car, have two separate water and electricity meters, and use separate utilities, and provide your own health insurance, and get two separate mortgages on the house or rent half a house a piece – just so things are even.. in case you get a divorce!

Bill,
Maybe times have changed. Some people do terrible things to each other when it comes to money. I know some people, who have had their significant others clean up their accounts. Some folks just don’t give a what… You would think they would stop and just think about what will happen to the bills, the groceries, etc but uh ah. Like for Jon and Kate they probably did ok for years, until fame and more money started accumulating. What did one of them do? Cleaned up the bank account.
