So what does this day truly symbolize?

It is a good day to be alive, healthy, and happy.  I know  it was reported on the news lots of Chinese people got married today—something to do with this day symbolizing ” long lasting?” so  i guess  that’s a good reason to to get married. It is also the 252nd day of the year, more power to the number 9, cloud 9..whatever you want to call it.   A little rainy in Kansas City, but no reason to stop any adventures of the day. So how did my day begin today?

I didn’t even hear my husband getting up today. I just woke up beside Julian, whom i never even heard coming in and getting in the bed. He was talking to me, asking for milk ” mama milk, miiiilk, milk pleaaase”  I asked him if we could just lay there for a little bit longer he said no and pulled my arm…ts ts ts, aaaah.. i know.  welcome to sans sleep land. when Julian wakes up, the whole house has to get up.

I woke up and gave him cereal and milk, then he asked for his vitamin. We snuggled on the couch and watched curious George the monkey.

Eli has gotten better, and i will find out on Friday if that ear infection has completely cleared.  He is getting very giggly, i love kissing his chunky belly, he laughs . He watches Julian playing on the floor and he acts like he is reaching down there to play with him. I lay him on his belly today and just watch him do his mini push ups. He is getting stronger by the day. I think he realizes what he has just achieved as he looks at us and just beams. Julian asked to hold him this morning and i just put the boppy around his waist and  lay Eli on it. They had a conversation each one getting excited after every sound, it was fun to listen and watch.

Julian still hasn’t asked for his computer back. I wanted to set it back up today and daddy said no to wait till this weekend. ..mmmh.. I may sneak in tonight after my husband is asleep and go set it up for him, lol.. on second thought,  maybe i will hold off, i don’t want this to be held  that against me.. it is tempting though.

When i get home at night, both boys are usually asleep..  I climb up and snuggle beside Julian rub his feet, and if it is a Friday night i like getting some baby oil and give him a massage while sleeping. I find it better this way than when he is up, as he just doesn’t  lay still or  long enough for me to do it. He is just too active.  Eli usually wakes up and get overly excited seeing me that going back to bed is more of a snooze than asleep. Whoever wrote that 3 month old babies should be able to sleep through the night, mmh, i know they weren’t talking about my kids for sure. Julian didn’t sleep through the night for us till he was 2 yrs old. I know you can train them on a sleep schedule, but it just didn’t work for this mama. We will see if we get it right this time around :)

Time to go  chat with my hubby. Goodnight!

A co-worker of mine, Greg.. found an interesting article by Gregg Easterbrook – sports columnist for espn.com about use of sanitizing hand wipes.. here’s the posting:

“Use of hand wipes is proliferating, owing to concerns regarding swine flu and general germ-o-phobia. The Centers for Disease Control warn that outside the hospital setting, disinfectant wipes have no demonstrated health benefit and may backfire by increasing bacteria resistance mutations while retarding the maturation of immune cells.

Immune-system maturation is triggered via contact with antigens, including the vast number of “commensal” microbes that cause no harm. Kill the harmless bugs with sanitizers, and immune system development may be hindered — leading to “a greater chance of allergies in children,” the CDC cautions. What do we observe in the period that sanitizing hand wipes have proliferated? Claims of ever-higher allergies in children.”

Peanut Allergy and Air Travel

Print

Some people can experience symptoms if someone opens up just a bag of peanuts, or if they sit across from someone eating peanuts, and when they are way up in the sky.. they can’t just escape right away unless they land the plane.

Before you book your flight talk to someone working  with the airlines to find out how they will accommodate your allergy.  If the airline serves peanuts they could declare  “peanut free” during the flight, the attendants would make an annoucement to let passengers know there is someone allergic to peanuts on board.  Air Tran and US Airways no longer serve peanuts, but still call ahead and let someone know,  to make sure other passengers are warned.  When you board the plane, stop before you take your sit and chat with  the flight attendant about this, so they can let everyone on board aware of this.

Keep in mind,  not everyone is allergic to peanuts or even comprehends how serious eating peanuts infront of you can be, so some passengers may still bring their own peanuts to snack on…so don’t make any assumptions, protect yourself.
